A day which we will never forget. I was in 8th grade when I had heard that we were under attack. I didn't believe it at first, I just thought it was a sick joke that a friend had made, but when I watched the tv in silence, I was terrified. Knowing that my aunt lived near the Twin Towers, I tried not to think about it as much until i got home. The bus couldn't have gone any slower with everyone in a panic but as soon as I got home, the tv was on, my whole family was home which was unusual, and my mom was on the phone. Luckily my aunt was away on a business trip because her apartment is a couple of blocks away from the Twin Towers. Even though she was okay, I was still sad at the sight of my friends leaving school early in tears.
This goes to the brave and innocent souls who did what they could in an situation that was completely blind to them. In remembrance to all who passed, god bless your souls and rest happily in a better place.
